“Like an encounter between Arvo Pärt and Bill Evans…,” wrote one English critic after seeing Düsseldorf pianist, Tom Blankenberg. He started writing for solo piano around 2010 and In 2019 he released his internationally acclaimed first album “atermus”, followed by his second album “et” in 2021.

He has been awarded the Förderpreis from Düsseldorf for “et” as well as a nomination for “Outstanding Artist” at the NRWPop Awards in 2019.

Outside of solo piano he has been a longstanding member of the indie band “Subterfuge” and is an avid composer for film and radio.
