Benjamin Geyer http://modellbahnmusic.net/performers/benjamin-geyer/ Fri, 22 Mar 2024 09:17:12 +0000 http://modellbahnmusic.net/?post_type=performers&p=321 “For me it’s important to find Sounds, which can be brought into different and unusual contexts. I like to enter symbioses to other ranges of Art like performing arts or spoken words”

In search of new musical inspiration, Benjamin founded his alias BernsteinZimmer. Since then, he has been pursuing a desire to combine his musical origins, improvisation, classical and jazz music with electronic-conceptual music. A three-month trip through the USA helped him to get to know people and artists who consciously and naturally break down these genre boundaries.

BernsteinZimmer was already performing as a warm up for international well known Artist Max Cooper and Beatrice Dillon and performs in modern Ensembles as Holly Schlotts UNIQUE, with the hypnotic experimental artist Laure Boer or the VKKO Ensemble. He participated as a synth and electronic musician at the Neuköllner Oper. He is also the Bandmember of the Berlin Duo MONONOKE and Amsterdam trio FLORA SOPHI. During the pandemic the debut Album of FLORA SOPHI – If/When was partly written, recorded, produced and mixed at BernsteinZimmers home-studio in Berlin.

CEEYS http://modellbahnmusic.net/performers/ceeys/ Tue, 24 Oct 2017 21:01:59 +0000 http://localhost/t_teresa/modellbahn/wordpress/?post_type=performers&p=12 CEEYS are brothers cellist Sebastian Selke and pianist Daniel Selke.

Having grown up in East Berlin during the final decade of the German Democratic Republic, CEEYS work explores recollections of their youth, contemporary music and vintage electronic instruments. Exploiting their knowledge of songwriting, textures and repetitive patterns, CEEYS creates an experimental but accessible sound that incorporates elements of jazz, pop, ambient and classical chamber music. This is combined by their early influence of Bach, Beethoven and Debussy and their passion for almost-forgotten compositions of East German based acts like Reinhard Lakomy, Wolfgang Paulke and Frank Fehse.

Having collaborated with some of Berlin and Germany’s finest composers and musicians (Ólafur Arnalds, Carlos Cipa and Martyn Heyne) the brothers were inspired to set up the Q3Ambientfest, a festival for experimental modern classical music. Launched in 2017 the festival is a collaboration with CEEYS and the Dutch event label F/uister.
